DisneyWorld...Day 1...

I am SO glad that our original flight to fly the red-eye to Florida was canceled...rescheduling us to fly during the day. It was much easier to relax and enjoy or trip...especially since it had been 3 years since the last time we'd flown. The girls were very excited to board...well, Mikenna was somewhat apprehensive, but soon got over it. It was fun hearing the girls as they watched us rise into the air..."Wow!! Look at the houses!! Cool, you can see the tiny cars! What are all of the green circles and squares mom?" (farm land)

Grandma Gale graciously dropped us off bright and early...and we were ready to leave behind the cold and cloudy skies! We arrived in Seattle (for a 3 hour layover): the kiddos were glued to the window watching take offs and landings, and just pointing out the funny "old man" planes, or "grandpa's picture" (Alaska Airlines) and were especially excited to see the Disneyland airplanes (Alaska again). They had even set up their beloved webkins to watch along. Once they were tired of that, they had fun climbing in, on, over, under and between the chairs...which we "let" them do since our flight to Orlando was over 5 hours long...We had lunch and then boarded our plane.Five hours...which is like traveling to Seattle...not so bad...they played together for a bit, colored, read, homework, ate snacks, played a game...near the end we were thinking "boy this isn't so bad! we didn't even need a tv!!" but then we realized we had an extra 1 1/2 hours to go...because, Michael had put his watch ahead by 4 hours instead of 3...once we figured that out...we pulled out the laptop and the kiddos got to watch a movie...and I got to read...
We arrived safe and sound...10 pm EST...Tim & Julia arrived 1/2 hour later...we squeezed into our 12 passenger van (yes, that means 15 people and their luggage (lots of it too) and car seats...magically squeezed quite snuggly thanks to Aaron and Michael's creative cramming...
and we were off to our rental home...which was perfect-6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, warm swimming pool/jacuzzi, large kitchen and family rooms...and I think the best part the kids loved-a TV in each room...:S

We unpacked, got the kiddos to sleep and then finalized our food plan...then Michael & I and Julia & Tim were off to Walmart at 1:30 am...we were seriously the only ones in the parking lot and store...zipped around and then back...in bed by 3 am...which is only midnight pst...tired and excited for the next day's activities!!
