A friend told me about this website...ana-white.com...had some great do-it-yourself projects and I found the bedframe that I wanted :) So, Mike got busy and got it done in built in two evenings then painted and sanded and stained in another few nights!! All before we left for spring break in Utah!
sidenote: don't do this to your children...Kaylee has been old enough to help watch her sisters for while now...I've left them to run short errands and etc. on a few occasions. Our ward had a RS b-day dinner one evening that Mike and I attended, once again leaving Kaylee to be our trusted babysitter. We emphasized that they were not to answer the phone or open the door...not to even peek to see who was at the door, etc. etc. We finished with dinner and act. by 8, and thought to go over to Home Depot to buy the materials for above bed. We decided top stop at the house to check on the kids and "test" them on their ignoring the door status...Pulled up, I rang the doorbell, no answer...rang it again...still no answer...Then Mike hopped out of the car...and begins to peer into the doorway window (which is a bit stain-glassish)...he grabs the door handle and rattles it...(he comments that the girls look a bit nervous as the keep looking over at the door...I start asking him to stop, but he doesn't.) He then inserts his key and partially opens the door, rattling it and etc. as Kaylee leaps out of her seat and rushes to the phone...as I yell, "it's just us Kaylee!! It's just us!!" They were not happy with Mike's prank. We were at HD for less than 10 minutes when we got a phone call, "When are you coming home? We're scared, Mikenna is crying." Now Kaylee won't babysit for us.
A few treats we made one afternoon and shared with some fun friends who came to play games with us later that evening....Oh, I tried making cake balls (bottom right corner) they didn't turn out very well. I think I'll stick to Oreo/Nutterbutter truffles.
Oh...and the finished bed installed!!

March...2...
Michael has discovered a new show...
Kassi with her new glasses...she chose to have glasses and not contacts...unless it's soccer practice or game time...then I put in the contacts...otherwise, she likes her new frames.
Monopoly Deal...the new favorite game they play ALL THE TIME!!

March...
Boxtops, perhaps you know about this already...well, our school collects them and they started a monthly "contest" between classrooms to see who could collect the most for prizes...ie pizza party, brownies, cookies...etc...well, with four girls, it's not easy to have each contribute each month (10 boxtops on a sheet.) One day at Costco, the girls noticed that the soup being sampled had boxtops..."please, could we have the boxtops off of the cans?" "Well, you can't take the cans, but you can tear the boxtops off and have them..." So, for a while there, every time we shopped at Costco, there we would stand by the garbage, getting nice and messy...collecting those boxtops...If any of you would like to contribute boxtops to our cause :) feel free to send them our way!!
Mikenna has made a few close friends. Being in am K it's nice to have a few of them over to play, however, I have discovered that one at a time is the best policy...
Michael on a rare occasion wearing his glasses...
...and soccer season...again...with a lot of pest-y spring bugs!
