Yard Work...

Friday, Mike and I were able to be out in our yard doing some yard work! (I know lots of fun! The yard needs A LOT of work.)

We have massive dandylion problems. We have major patchy grass. You can stand from the upstairs window and really see what an eye sore the neglected yard turned into over the past 3 years. grrrrr......

The flower beds: we weeded out, put down new weed fabric and then covered it all with river rock. Had to also "kill" off some large stumps from trees Mike cut down that were right next to the foundation. Then Mike spent some time spraying the weeds in the yard. They are slowly dying, we are afraid the roots are too big to die easily.

At least some of the bulbs and flowers have survived. Grandma's snow in summer ground cover has thrived, Forget Me Nots have spread all over, daisy's, hostas & purple cone flowers seem to be coming up fine...I think I'll work on transplanting a bunch of them over to my parents so I can have something to plant at the new house.

Kassi also enjoyed being outdoors with us. Here she is with friends hanging out...Mike said it was fine as long as she didn't climb any higher...

What fun! It's always nice to see the finished product of your work. We started to plant a garden this past weekend. We're both excited to have our own little plot.

I love when spring weather is actually warm enough to get outside! Sounds like a lot of work but it will be worth it! When are you expecting to get your new house? Oh and Phil's assignment changed again. He is now leaving the week after memorial day. Are you still going to come see me this summer?
