Kiera had no special requests for a b-day cake this year...except for an ice cream cake...maybe something about a bunny too...but...I just stuck with ice cream...so...Julia and I came up with 3 layers...Chocolate with oreos, vanilla cookie dough, & vanilla with snickers...with oreo crumbs in between and whipped topping on the outside...
...with of course the o-so-lovely beads...Julia thought of the idea to throw them onto the cake...placing them strategically just wasn't working...if you look closely, you may notice how Julia is "delicately" throwing the beads on...several at a time...I think at least 1/2 ended up on the floor :P
Then, the delima of where to put the oh so tall cake...I had cleared a place in the garage freezer...but the darn freezer isn't a frost free one and the frost took up space I needed...we quickly emptied out 1/2 of another freezer, which as I was trying to get the cake in-the other half fell out :S Anyhow, safe & sound in a nice cold freezer the cake went :)
Here she is, my 9 year old!! With her favorite cousin of the hour...OLIVIA!!
Julia set up a cute tea party...we put together flower clips and headbands right before...and then outside for swimming !! Family bbq afterwards...Happy Birthday to KIERA!!

Thank you. Wow, you guys always seem to come up with the cutest things. Kiera's party looked so much fun. I love the ice cream cake idea. How did you get the round look to the cake? Round cake pan?
Looks awesome. We've done an ice cream sandwich cake for one of the boys and a regular ice cream too. Ice cream is so hard to handle..You 2 did a great job. Wished we were there to see it all. Happy belated Birthday Kiera!
