gas perms...II...

Kaylee has been a trooper with these contacts. I remember when I was younger, and the doc tried putting in hard contacts (I don't think they had rgp yet) and I refused to open my eyes because they hurt. I don't know if the rgp feel the same...probably not, but I know there is discomfort in wearing them as they eyes become "desensitized".

The first day she wore them (Wed) she was doing great...the doc said to leave them in for about 20 min or so...well, after about 1 1/2 hours she finally asked for them to be taken out...only, I didn't know how to (the doc did show me, but...) I managed to "suction" one to part of her eye...she cried and cried, so we jumped into the car...Uncle Ted to the rescue...he plucked them both out.

Thurs. she was ready to try again...only for some reason, I managed to get fingerprints on the lenses, so all she saw was a blur...only, since I put them in during violin lessons, Uncle Aaron wasn't around to help me get them out...I managed to pluck them out (despite my hysterical sister who tried to talk me through the removal process, but then was overcome with laughter). Aaron explained the cleaning and reinsertion process to prevent the fingerprints...we tried again, and after and hour or so, met up with him so he could show me how to remove the contacts. This time I paid better attention, plus he had a better technique for removal.

Yesterday she wore them again...for a few hours...Today she is sick...we are taking a break.
