We made a very quick trip to Utah this past weekend for Kirsten's baptism. We left Friday afternoon...and got in some time after midnight. Although the Nuttall's were out of town, they were gracious enough to let us stay in their home. When we woke the girls up to go in, Kassi asked, "Where's Tim?" When the girls woke up Saturday morning, they went looking for Grandma Nuttall. They were sad to find that she wasn't there (Mike & I were sad to miss Papa Nuttall's wheat crepes). Then they started looking for Stimpy...then Mikenna & Kassi went all the way downstairs to play...eventually making their way back upstairs with the cart & a few books.
After going to Seagull Book & the Church Distribution Center, we met up with the rest of the Gale & Stitt families for Kirsten's baptism. Then over to a chapel near Kathryn's for lunch and to hang out for the day. It was nice to see everyone and hang out...Mike's cousin Ben & his family were there, we met ??? fiance. My cousins even came over and spent the afternoon with us too: Amy had just returned home from her mission in Hong Kong, so it was great to see her, Elsie who had broken her neck several weeks ago, so it was nice to see with my own eyes that she is healing and Ada & Alisha. Again, they made sure to spend time with my kiddos (who adore them!!) They were "attacked" and pulled left & right.
Mike & I made a quick trip to pick up a game (we were amazed at how knowledgeable the shop keeper was about games...he knew which games had won what awards for each year!) So we taught anyone who wanted to, to play Ticket to Ride (a new favorite.) Kathryn made a yummy chicken crockpot filling for tacos, and once we'd eaten, cleaned up, and then set up (for church the next morning)...most of us were tired and ready to turn in for the night.
Once back to the Nuttalls' Mike & Mikenna fell promptly asleep (it was only 8 pm~7 pm pst.) The girls got in their jammies to watch some TV (we couldn't find our swim suits before we came, so no swimming) and my cousins came over for a fun night of Cities & Knights (Ada & Amy had never played, so we graciously played without Uniqua & the "7" rule) and a few more rounds of Ticket to Ride (which because we had become so "efficient" in playing we were able to play a few times). It was great hanging out with them--chatting about their guy friends, teasing Amy about Kikea-lala and what some of their plans were in the next year...and just laughing at each other.
Oh, almost forgot, Kaylee managed to yank out her 12th tooth. Disgusting!
Tim's brother, Jon showed up about 9 or so. He was a bit surprised and thought we'd cleaned up after him (he'd had a big dinner a few nights before and so was coming to clean up). He offered us some leftovers (which my cousins inhaled), ate some himself, commented that he was glad his dinner get-together for that night had fallen through (I'M SO GLAD IT CANCELED) and then left. Jon needs to get married.
We left early the next morning, drove & drove...and then home!! I hate quick trips like that, but am glad we had an enjoyable time with family!

I just read about how Cali and her sisters met up with all their girl cousins and had a weekend together. Now I read this and it makes me miss all my cousins I grew up with! Looks like a quick, but very fun trip!
I miss being in Utah. It was alot of fun. I also miss playing settlers. Can't wait for our next wedding gathering.
It looks like you had a blast and I love the photo of someone on the toilet... hysterical! :)
